I’m most excited about their Anti-Aging Cream. I’ve always been a fan of natural moisturizers and I’ve already fallen in love with this one. It absorbs into the skin nicely and my makeup seems to hold up better throughout the day.

090914 White After Labour Day P.2
Fall is all about layers for me in makeup and in clothing. The early months are the best in that you can pull off bare legs, a chunky knit and a leather jacket, a la the above and not feel under or over dressed. This outfit combo of white on white is one of my faves and I dressed it differently this time with the sweater but also with the CDG x Converse sneakers. It’s a great way to instill a casual comfy vibe to the outfit.
Every fall wardrobe needs a good leather jacket. Mine is made by Mackage (exclusively for Aritzia) and is slightly shrunken. This jacket will stay with me for a long time and will only get better with age.

As for makeup I’ll be layering as well with brighter colours as the weather gets gloomy and my pale olive skin needs a pick me up. Healthy eating well is always a necessity for a good complexion but sometimes a little bit more blush in a brighter colour goes a long way. Admittedly I do wear more makeup up during the fall and for blog photo shoots so don’t be alarmed by this long list of what I’m wearing in this post.

81814 Benefit They’re Real
Thank you so much to Benefit Cosmetics Canada for sending me this box of amazing products for my first ever beauty review! I’ve been using the liner, mascara and eye makeup remover for the last couple of weeks now to really get to know the products and see how they mesh with my busy day-to-day life.
Benefit They’re Real Push-Up Liner
On my first application I was immediately impressed with how smooth this liner glides over the lash line and how close it also hugs it. It’s also a dramatic blackest-black line, which I love. The gel liner is encased in a slanted, flexible tip, which gets pushed up by clicking the pen. This is what helps produce such a perfect application.
How easy is it to apply compared to an eyeliner pen you might ask? Well, my previous liner (Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Eye Liner) took a precise steady hand and a bit of time to produce a daytime cat eye. I find the Benefit liner is quick, easy and gives me the look I want in a fraction of the time. Perfect for the days when I want to sleep in and have 30 mins to shower, dress and do a full face of make up (the result of short hair and a monochrome wardrobe!).
The Benefit liner wears really well throughout the day and I find even at the end of the night, it’s still in tact. My skin type is on the oily side and I always find it challenging to find eye make up that won’t budge. I’m happy to report this stuff is not going anywhere!
Pros: Ridiculously easy application. Creates a precise thin line with minimal effort.
Con: With my oily skin type a thin line is best otherwise I will have a bit of smudging on the crease.
Verdict: I’m a convert and am using it now on the daily!
Benefit They’re Real Mascara
This may sound goofy but it took me a couple of times to get used to this mascara! I kept layering it as I would have my previous mascara (Cover Girl Clump Crusher by Lash Blast) and it would look too heavy. I find it’s best in one application and to take the time to sweep the brush back and forth on the lashes to separate, lift and thicken them. That means this mascara does three important functions in one sweep. Love it! Again I’m impressed with the rich black colour here and the staying power.
Pros: Time saver. One application and you’re done.
Cons: Real staying power. Use a waterproof makeup remover like the one from this collection to really wipe your makeup away.
Verdict: I’m happy to say I’m using this on the daily as well!
Benefit They’re Real Remover
This remover is a creamy waterproof formula that is gentle and doesn’t sting the eyes. It works perfect with the They’re Real Mascara and I swear these two were made for each other and should be sold as a set! It gets off all of my mascara and keeps me away from raccoon eye territory.
Pros: Gentle creamy formula that feels silky on the eyes. Hardcore waterproof eye makeup remover.
Cons: Perhaps this next statement is because I was using a non-waterproof mascara previously but I truly feel dependant on the They’re Real Remover to get the They’re Real mascara off. My regular Body Shop Cleansing Oil doesn’t cut it here.
