Don't freak out! Winter is coming and it will be here before you know it. Instead of leaving your winter shopping to the first snow fall, I'm telling you to start shopping now. Here's why.

  1.  Best selection / first dibs. The good stuff is gone by the time winter arrives. I worked retail once upon a time and each season it was the same, the good stuff goes fast.
  2. So that you're prepared. You know how it goes, winter arrives without warning so be prepared, look chic and be warm.
  3. So you don't have to worry about it. It's one less thing to do because now you have a fab new coat and new snow boots to get you through the winter.
  4. Sales!!! If you start shopping for winter gear early, chances are you can score a good sale. Here's where it gets tricky, most places won't discount new items when they hit the stores, but shops will have promotions so you can save on your overall purchase, ie; 10% off your purchase of $250. If you're not in a rush to buy your new winter boots, you can save a pretty penny until that promotion hits. Subscribe to the email list of your favourite store to be notified.

Geoff and are wearing Cougar boots which are suitable for the harsh winters in Toronto. They're waterproof, have a temperature rating of -30℃, have a cozy fleece lining and thick rugged soles for trekking in the snow. I'm wearing the 39068 Original boot and he's wearing the Baker boot in brown.
For those who don't know, Geoff is the photographer behind all of the pics you see on I create my own flat lays but for street style photography, he's the one behind the lens. We've been married for 8 years now and he's my biggest supporter so I'm thrilled we worked on this post together.
